MISSION

To raise awareness of domestic violence, increase access to support for victims, and improve accountability and treatment for offenders.

VISION

The El Paso County Domestic Violence Task Force envisions a community dedicated to providing a safe place where our families can thrive free from domestic violence. We will work together to accomplish this by raising the level of awareness of domestic violence in our community, increasing access to support and resources for victims, and improving accountability and treatment of offenders.

HISTORY

Founded in 2021, the Task Force aims to identify and fill gaps in services to build a safer El Paso County. We meet every other month to discuss presenting issues and needs in the community, provide interagency training and updates, and share status updates of current projects and subcommittee work.

We arose out of a clear community need. El Paso county has high levels of domestic violence, and a plethora of organizations addressing the problem, but a lack of understanding between agencies. Organizations do not have a comprehensive understanding of why or how other organizations operate, and therefore miss opportunities to collaborate and support one another. The Task Force is a coordinated community response that brings everyone to the table to bridge these gaps in a collaborative way.
